1. Testing Panel & Costs
Designed exclusively for the LGBTQ+ community.
Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are localized infections, meaning they stay at the specific site of sexual contact (genitals, rectum, or throat). For example, if you bottom and engage in anal or oral sex, a standard blood or urine test will likely miss an infection. Multi-site testing is essential for an accurate diagnosis.
Test samples:
- Common samples include blood, urine, vaginal fluid, ulcer swabs, and oral swabs (depending on your symptoms, where they appear, and your sexual practices).
- If you are unsure what you need, contact GD Health’s Medical Experts immediately for advice.
Pricing:

4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Multi-site testing is crucial because Gonorrhea and Chlamydia bacteria are localized specifically at the point of sexual contact. Traditional methods have specific limitations:
- Urine tests: Are only designed to detect infections in the genital tract and cannot detect bacteria in the throat or rectum.
- Blood tests: There is currently no reliable blood test to accurately diagnose active Chlamydia or Gonorrhea.
Yes, you must maintain a routine screening schedule. According to official clinical guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while DoxyPEP is a highly effective preventive measure that significantly reduces the risk of bacterial infections (like Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis), it does not provide 100% absolute protection.
Unlike HIV, which has a longer window period, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia have shorter incubation periods. You should wait 14 days (2 weeks) after unprotected sex to get tested. This “window period” is necessary for the bacteria to multiply to detectable levels. Testing (via urine or swab) after 14 days ensures the highest accuracy. If you test too early, the tests might not detect the pathogen, leading to a false-negative result.
